My Island: The Off-Grid Urban Island for the Return to Social Interaction and Analog Life
Born from the collaboration between Michele Perlini and Mattia Volpato, My Island is an off-grid urban
"island," created for the pure pleasure of experience but also driven by a far less trivial desire for a
return to social interaction, understood as a recovery of an "analog" way of life, designed to offer the
highest level of interaction between people.
It represents a sharp break from the technological dimension in which we are immersed, and a higher-
level approach to the very concept of modernity—a sort of digital detox that, surprisingly, is also
involving younger generations.
An off-grid island where internet connections are banned and guests are invited to disconnect all their
technological devices. This is complemented by an immersive experience in nature, created through
the use of medicinal, hypoallergenic, and natural air-purifying plants. The idea is community-driven, a
project that could potentially involve our cities by creating "analog" urban islands.

Infinite Pavilion by Perlini and Biello: the shape of nature in a kaleidoscope of light and surfaces
Michele Perlini and Dario Biello bring natural light to center stage with Infinite Pavilion, presented
during the year of Euroluce. This unique installation invites visitors to experience and share an exclusive
perspective at the heart of Fuorisalone 2025, in Piazza Cordusio, within the 5 Vie District.
The Pavilion offers an unprecedented view of the city, a sensory exploration that immerses visitors in a
new dimension: urban nature. The experience becomes an intimate, meditative journey where
individuals can lose themselves in a seamless, flowing space. Here, the shape of nature emerges,
encouraging the observer to delve into its essence while engaging with both the physical elements of
the space and their inner self.
A kaleidoscope of natural light, designed through precise cuts in the walls and the artful interplay of
opaque and reflective surfaces, guides the gaze like a telescope. The installation frames Milan and its
iconic landmark, the Duomo, stripping it of its historical and urban context and projecting it into a realm
that is both metaphysical and spiritual.
This project invites a rediscovery of the city and its light through an experience that blends architecture,
nature, and introspection.
