On the main floor of Palazzo Litta, Wanderart brings Lunar, a collection of works suspended between art and design conceived as a tribute to matter and its genesis. The collection stages the movements that shape the emergence of earth, the forming of basins and debris. The edition stems from research on metal residues in casting crucibles and is an expression of the evolution of matter in constant becoming. Composed of multiple artistic furniture artifacts made of cast bronze and aluminum, Lunar interprets the formal beauty of the unexpected in dialogue with human action. Tables, mirrors and vases become a formal whole consisting of elegant combinations of aluminum, bronze and brass. Sinuous objects, polished or rough, take shape between nature and artifice. Vibrant and irregular surfaces, prominences and craters become the archetype of a natural and spontaneous aesthetic; everted volumes and rippling planes dominate the expressive language of the collection.
"Lunar is a tale of the strength and vigor of a process," explains Alessandra Pasqua: "Metal is forged, modified, made liquid and finally formed leaving impurities, debris and slag, endemic and unexpected components of a living and unpredictable substance. The surfaces, the articulated epiderma of matter, are inspired by the morphogenetic processes that shape natural elements and express the vitality of creation, land formation, and telluric shifts."
Wanderart relied on Millim Studio for the design of the exhibit, a collaboration that has been active since the first release of the Lunar collection and includes creative design consultancy.
