Etico
Etico is a parallelepiped-shaped ceramic vase, hermetically sealed on all walls except the upper one which has a technical hole, necessary to avoid breaking it in the oven during the cooking phase. The external surfaces are characterized by a groove which highlights the golden geometry of the volume.
Etico is an anonymous body, an abstract entity in search of an author. Its austere and mysterious presence changes when it meets the human action which, by scratching the surface in correspondence with the grooves, breaks it in a controlled manner and makes it unique and special. In this way the originally anonymous object will manifest itself generating multiple and unpredictable results.
Etico is not a finished object, but one to be finished. It doesn't break, it transforms.
Impronta vases
The inspiration comes from the desire to create an object imagining not owning anything, just the natural ability of the hands and the earth. Proceeding by subtraction of material starting from a block of clay, Impronta is born, an excavated vase that bears the marks of those who make it. This design experience is an exercise in simplicity, an attitude of pure elementaryism which with a primitive gesture also wants to be an attempt to honestly reach the essence of the vase, or that sculpted form of the void that welcomes the flowers. The exterior is sober, linear, the true form is hidden, the sculpture is inside.
Therefore, each vase is made by hand without the use of molds, and due to the technique used, each artifact can never be the same as another, and therefore will be a unique and special piece. Sizes range from 16 to 30cm in height.
Even if in a modest way, this project wants to be a spokesperson for a simple, human way of doing, that it is not always necessary to resort to expensive technologies when one needs to produce a good, placing the emphasis in particular on the theme of the specificity and uniqueness of things. Diversity is what never makes us stop thinking.
Tubi
This family of vases was made by recovering waste metal pipes, subsequently welded together according to the dimensions found, trying to put them together in positions that simulate precarious equilibrium conditions, and which also reminds us a bit of the position in which they were there where they lay alone.
The objects obtained, despite their simplicity, have a dynamic and iridescent impact based on the point of observation, under the light the solids and voids generate unexpected shadows.
The vases, like small domestic sculptures, express all their materiality, without ever eluding the signs of a deliberately unsophisticated workmanship.
