RE-BIKEMI

A story of upcycling design takes shape at Milan Design Week 2022, with the Re-bikeMi promoted ideas competition by Giacimenti Urbani, in collaboration with T12LAB, the technical sponsorship of Clear Channel Italia, the participation of ATM as a technical partner, and with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan and ADI. Five prototypes of new design objects that can be reproduced on a large scale are born from the recovery of bike-Mi bike components that can no longer be used.

A kit of bicycle accessories, a shopping basket and holder, a floor lamp, flower pots and a clothesline are the finalist projects selected from among thirty-five projects submitted by students from six international Design Departments and Schools (Brera Academy, IED Milan, ISIA Pescara, Naba, Milan Polytechnic, Raffles Milan).

REUSE MANIFESTO

How can reuse systems be promoted and thus reduce single-use plastic, even outside the home? The answer: only by activating a concrete and continuous dialogue at governmental level. The 'Manifesto del Riutilizzo' by RiC, restaincircolo.org, the permanent working table on reuse led by Giacimenti Urbani, with Associazione Comuni Virtuosi, CDA, Pcup, Planet Life Economy Foundation, Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza, Università Studi Milano Bicocca and Zero Waste Europe, was created with this aim.

The RiC table, restaincircolo.org, formed on the occasion of the 8th Festival of Urban Giacimenti last November, launches with the birth of the "Manifesto of Reuse", an appeal to national policy-makers to facilitate the implementation of reuse circuits as advocated by European and national regulations, and at the same time asks all bodies interested in activating these systems to become co-spokespersons of the initiative.

NOPLA AGAIN

Created in the framework of the Cariplo Plastic Challenge 2019 and 2020, they respond to the objectives and indications of UN Goal 12, the European Directive and, at national level, the Climate Decree for the responsible use of resources and the reduction of disposable plastic, and identify reuse as a key tool for responsible resource management.

The NoPlà, let's exercise against single-use plastic project, born within the framework of the Cariplo Plastic Challenge 2019 Call for Proposals, led by the association Giacimenti Urbani and partnered by the University of Milan-Bicocca and the Cascina Cuccagna Consortium, with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan - Milano Food Policy and Milano Plastic Free -, in collaboration with Amat, Amsa, Ecodallecittà, EcorNaturasì, GiòStyle and MM. Having come to fruition with the awareness-raising courses on the problems of single-use plastic foreseen in the Tommaso grossi, Bacone-Stoppani and Giusti D'Assisi Comprehensive Institutes and in Cascina Cuccagna, it is now preparing to present the results and activate the last part of the project, i.e. the experimentation of reusable containers at the fresh food counter in some Milanese EcorNaturasì shops and in Bicocca University.
