Born in 2017 in Milan, Mingotti and Giordano architects express a clear architectural vision in their projects, characterized by a continuous fusion of history and contemporaneity. The studio works on various international projects, from high-end residences to retail, boasting important clients from the entrepreneurial and art industry worlds. Each project is always developed in close contact with the client, to conceive creative solutions that meet the needs and experiences of the users. Experimenting with materials, old techniques, and new graphics, they create new contemporary designs. Each project is the result of a collage of influences in architecture rich in meanings, welcoming spaces where people can live with elegance.
The Milanese headquarters of the studio is located in a neoclassical building, built on the ruins of the San Pietro in Campo Lodigiano convent, designed in 1621 by Richini. The studio occupies what was once a portion of the ancient convent's quadriportico, converted at the beginning of the century into a warehouse for the manufacture's shipments, the destination of the palace at that time. The industrial charm, combined with the complex stratifications and modifications over the centuries, immediately captivated the architects.
The restoration project involved the removal of all the additions made in recent years, to recover the authenticity of the original lines and spaces. The décor is eclectic; a great passion of the architects is the combination of antique and oriental pieces, with bespoke furniture: the two large iron tables, the Malachite of Challant, and the full-height composite mirror; the gold and glass "Modulaire" lamp designed by Mingotti and Giordano architects for Laudarte, the chinoiserie, and the Giotto Stoppino seats, a family collection dating back to the 1970s. The second environment, connected to the central gallery by a large arch, has been transformed into the bar area, characterized by the Art Deco counter in pear wood and Murano glass, from a hotel in the lagoon. The star of the lounge is the "Poliedri" chandelier by Venini which reflects on the large mirror, the result of the union of mirrors of different colors, evocative of the light of baroque galleries.
