Eliana Lorena was born in Novara in 1957, she currently lives and works in Milan (Atelier Lorena in Via Andrea Solari 7).
After studying Art History at the State University of Milan, in 1977 he began working with Elio Fiorucci, followed by an experience at the Design Center of Montefibre. Fundamental was the apprenticeship at CDM of Clino Castelli, Andrea Branzi and Massimo Morozzi. In the 80s he began a series of collaborations with many of the masters of Italian design such as Clino Castelli, Enzo Mari, Ettore Sottsass jr, Andrea Branzi, Mario Bellini, Michele De Lucchi and Nanna Strada. His design research in the field of design is particularly focused on materials and the expressive qualities of plastics, fabrics and metals.
In 1989 with Aldo Petillo and Davide Mercatali he founded the Metals Group to work in the search for innovative solutions in the field of metalworking and finishing and opened an art design gallery in Via Lanza 4, a crossroads of international and avant-garde design.
He has taught at Domus Academy, Brera Academy, IED, ISAD and as visiting professor at various other national ISIA institutes and in Asia in South Korea, Singapore, Japan.
Since 2008 she has been working on the Unico project, focused on the study of female identity and anthropology through the Barbie icon (hashtag barbiedonne).
His works have been exhibited in exhibitions all over the world, from Milan to Paris, from Cannes to Alexandria and Japan in many locations and published in important design and art magazines.
