Metropolitan Jungle's first participation at Milan Design Week was in 2020, and since
then, the concept by artist and interior designer Angela Florio of DecorAzione®
continues to amaze and move with the originality and creative contemporaneity of its
proposals. This edition sees her collaborating with Francesca Paolucci of Do Your
Garden®, and making the project even more attractive is its location: for the first time,
the National Social Security Institute (INPS) challenges the public image of cold
bureaucracy by opening the doors of its headquarters on Via Circo 16 to a truly
extraordinary idea. The project is enriched by contributions and inspirations, always
rooted in the themes dear to the art designer of DecorAzione®: the harmonious dialogue
between art, design, and urban nature; the synthesis of traditional techniques with
cutting-edge technologies; and environmental responsibility.
Collaborating on this edition of Metropolitan Jungle, titled "Fusion of Design, Nature,
and Herbae Tintoriae," are artists, designers, and artisans from Guido Toschi
Marazzani Visconti, Mf Design, and Thais Bernardes, with the usual support from
5VIE and sponsorship from Santamarta Immobili. For an exclusive invite-only
event, Borgoluce wine will also be featured.
Thanks to these contributions, visitors can immerse themselves in a dreamlike vision of a
possible and sustainable world. Metropolitan Jungle also offers workshops on natural
dyeing techniques applied to various materials, such as wood. The goal is to raise
consumer awareness about environmental respect in furniture choices, demonstrating how
contemporary design can use colors that are non-toxic to humans and environmentally
friendly. The workshops will be held every day at 5 PM, lasting approximately 20
minutes. Open to everyone, including schools
.
These exclusive offerings make Metropolitan Jungle with Do Your Garden®, set in such a
unique location like INPS, a truly one-of-a-kind event. The unusual venue reinterpreted by
Metropolitan Jungle features a large interior space of 50 square meters and a 100-
square-meter garden. Visiting hours: April 7 to 13, from 9 AM to 7 PM (M4 -
Vetra). The interior room transforms into a metaphysical space, filled with an explosion
of nature that extends into the garden. DecorAzione®, Do Your Garden®, Guido Toschi
Marazzani Visconti, Thais Bernardes, and Mf Design each contribute their own identity.
Angela Florio exhibits screens for both indoor and outdoor use, remarkable not only
for their aesthetics but also for their functionality, being waterproof and suitable for
outdoor use. The decoration is digitally printed on non-woven fabric, resistant to water
and humidity. The supporting structure is made of painted metal. The "Winter Garden"
features sculptural leaves, each a cast of a real leaf transformed into art. Inspired by
nature itself, the leaves are captured in plaster gauze, preserving their form. The self-
supporting leaves of varying heights form a "winter garden" centerpiece for tables or living
spaces.
"Tropical Lumina Gems," a jewel lampshade created in collaboration with Thais
Bernardes Milano jewelry, transforms each piece into a testament to the encounter
between Italian elegance and tropical majesty. The floor lamp, featuring
a digitally printed paper shade, is adorned with decorations that are real jewels. The stars are tropical birds
embellished with colorful gemstones in a magical world.
Do Your Garden® by Francesca Paolucci manages the garden section and part of the
workshops on dyeing herbs. Francesca Paolucci, a Garden Designer, interacts with Angela
Florio’s work by creating green spaces both indoors and outdoors. She presents her new
project, Do Your Garden, an online consulting platform aimed at making garden creation
accessible to everyone with professional support. Her motto: "A plant for every place, a
garden for every person." She will also co-host the dyeing herbs workshops, as these
herbs often feature in her designs.
Guido Toschi Marazzani Visconti contributes with the Palladio tent, placed in the
garden, with its ancient and exotic charm that merges a passion for distant places with
the need for unique outdoor spaces. Creating tents and pavilions with ancient, exotic, and
sometimes fairytale-like allure stems from the need to reconcile passion for distant times
and places with the practical necessity of beautiful, solid, and durable coverings for new
outdoor living spaces. Their stylistic research draws from Roman war tents, medieval
tournament camps, and luxurious 18th/19th-century pavilions, up to the exotic
inspirations of Berber tents from North Africa. Only the most reliable and long-lasting
models have become part of their permanent and patented collection. For this occasion,
the Palladio tent will be on display.
MF Design srl showcases BriLu, a lamp made from ancient oak wood from Venetian
briccole, with a Murano glass blown lamp and LED light insert, finished with carnauba wax
scented with lotus flowers. Handmade in Italy. Barrique, a table made from reclaimed oak
barrels previously used for wine, finished with must-scented wax. Dalben, two oak briccole
heads from the Venetian Lagoon, treated with aquamarine-scented wax. All handmade in
Italy.
Brazilian jewelry designer Thais Bernardes contributes with "Feathers," a jewel that
symbolizes lightness, spiritual growth, and good fortune—capable of elevating and
bringing peace and serenity. The feather is a glamorous, refined jewel adding
unmistakable style to any look. It holds a long history and tradition, directly connected to
the Brazilian indigenous culture, where colorful feathered headdresses are considered an
art form. "Brazilian Soul" is a collection where the vibrant Brazilian spirit bursts forth,
featuring tropical birds adorned with colorful gems. The collection also includes a gold-
plated 925 silver Chevalier Ring with a parrot set on stones with a hand-enameled
background.
The Metropolitan Jungle project for Milan Design Week 2025, combining tradition
and modernity, helps us rediscover, in our often alienating daily lives, the roots of the
human essence in a dialogue between the universe and artifice, generating life and beauty
through the power of imagination and dreams.
