FMM Design, a collectible design studio, will be part of 5VIE Design Week, presenting a
collection inspired by natural phenomena, particularly the 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
For this occasion, an exclusive new edition of the Plinio Table and two lamps will be unveiled,
continuing the studio’s exploration of materiality and concept.
The collection captures the transformative power of nature, translating the raw energy of
volcanic eruptions into functional sculptural pieces. The Plinio Table, crafted from natural basalt,
embodies the strength and geological memory of the volcano, while its smooth black glass top
represents solidified lava. The Plinio Lamps reinterpret the eruption’s drama with a lava stone
base and a cloud-shaped structure in resin and cement, treated with volcanic ash to enhance
authenticity and texture, creating an immersive and evocative light experience.
Each piece is a unique work of collectible design, transforming the Vesuvian eruption’s power
into a refined artistic expression, bridging historical memory and material innovation.
