After its debut in Barcelona, the new phygital platform dedicated to outdoor design arrives at the Milan Design Week from 15 to 21 April. In the evocative context of the Alik Garden, an open-air cinema, the result of collaboration with the FX film and animation school of Barcelona, will be the fulcrum of a week dedicated to sharing and love for life in the open air. A space where nature, design and art meet which will counterbalance a circuit of showrooms in the city.

TERRASZA, the new phygital platform exclusively dedicated to Exterior Design, organizes the first edition of TERRASZA MILANO, from 15 to 21 April 2024, on the occasion of Milan Design Week. A unique opportunity for professionals and design enthusiasts to explore the world of outdoor design and outdoor living.

After the debut last October in Barcelona, where with TERRASZA BCN 2023 had created a circuit of showrooms and events with the collaboration of brands such as Artemide, Gandía Blasco Group, Nanimarquina, iSiMAR, Point, Agora, HOUE, Potocco, Cubiñá and KSAR Living, in Milan TERRASZA announces its collaboration with other Italian and European brands.

In the Garden of Alik, where the Centro Artistico Alik is based Cavaliere, in via de Amicis 17, in the center of the city, in the 5VIE district, where design and art historically merge, next to sculptures by one of the great masters of contemporary art of the second half of the twentieth century, the new products are presented of companies which, as in the online platform, represent the different types of furnishings and accessories necessary for outdoor spaces. The installation will be supervised by the architect Giovanni Rivolta of the studio A4A Rivolta Savioni Architetti and will integrate harmoniously the proposals of:

  • Benkert Bänke, a German brand specialized for over 30 years in high-quality, sustainable and aesthetically appealing urban furniture, presents some pieces that have recently received numerous important awards such as Chalidor 800 designed by Antonio Mastrorilli, founder of Gibillero Design.

  • Ca\Stil, an Italian brand specialized in furnishings with a simple and contemporary design made of metal, designed for contract and residential use, debuts at the Fuorisalone with six of its flagship collections, the flagship of a production company with a decades-long history, born from collaboration with international designers.

  • Carola fra i Trulli, a brand of niche home fragrances and decorative objects conceived and designed by the Milanese architect Carola Altamura, presents "La Casa Incantata", the first lifestyle collection where the home fragrance, declined in eight fascinating Mediterranean botanical fragrances, is the backdrop to new olfactory objects and exclusive textile insertions.

  • Gandía Blasco Group, a Mediterranean company with 82 years of history, born as a manufacturer of yarns and blankets, whose trajectory has been marked by constant reinvention and promotion of design culture. Now in its third generation, it is a point of reference in the design and production of furniture and outdoor spaces and contemporary artisan carpets, with its three brands GANDIABLASCO, GAN and DIABLA in collaboration with international architects and designers.

  • Lorelux, the Apulian brand that created the first urban street lamps in recycled and infinitely recyclable plastic, highly resistant to impacts and bad weather - already nominated for the 2024 Compasso d'Oro - presents Cloche. The first street furniture lamp from the Contemporary Collection was born under the art direction of the award-winning architect Raffaella Mangiarotti and designed by the Milanese industrial designer Alessandro Stabile.

  • Magis, an "artists' factory" that has represented Italian design since 1976 with timeless furniture and seating made of durable and recyclable materials, presents the Air-Chairs which, designed by Jasper Morrison in 1999, were relaunched in 2023 in a new version made entirely of 100% post-consumer plastic, deriving from the recycling of polylaminate and disposable food packaging.

  • NovaraOutdoor Kitchens brings from Barcelona its outdoor kitchens with a minimalist design, customizable, practical and resistant, created thanks to its exclusive Q-XTREM® technology for nautical environments, perfect for a sophisticated clientele who is looking for furnishings that satisfy the need to be exposed facing the sea. With large worktops, high-quality appliances and smart storage solutions.

  • Plust, born n06 as a brand of euro3plast Spa, leader in the production of Made in Italy plastic vases and objects, offers its vision of outdoor design through the Boom collection designed by Marco Gregori, which combines the geometric perfection of the circle with great seating comfort, exploring the creative possibilities of plastic.

  • Vajillas de Ultramar presents with an art installation "La Vajilla", an extraordinary collection that combines the unique vision of the famous designer Josep Font with the craftsmanship of the Madrid-based pottery atelier founded by Maria José Diez and Natalia López. The 'overseas tableware', a combination of art, high fashion and ceramics, incorporates fresh, dried flowers or vegetal elements in the bows or decorations that simulate knotted fabrics, specifically created to accommodate them.

  • Viscio Urban Design, a leading company for over thirty years in the sector of design and production of street furniture in local reconstituted stone in Apricena (FG), presents its most recent innovation: the RecycALL photoluminescent bollards, designed by Alessandro Canepa , Tiziana Di Sipio and Sara Priore, selected by ADI Design Index 2023 and candidates for the Compasso d'Oro 2024. Also usable as seats, they allow you to recycle inert materials at 0 km, save production and sales costs, "illuminate" at cost zero, reduce CO2 in the air and furnish any urban space with a completely customizable product.

In the evocative context of the Alik Garden, an open-air cinema will be set up, whose audience will be made up of outdoor seating of various types and from different companies. In addition to the dream images of terraces, gardens and swimming pools, the FX film and animation school in Barcelona, which among its various courses offers a master's degree in architectural visualization, is developing a very creative special content that will only be revealed in April.

Even guests of the new TRIBE hotel, recently opened in Milan Malpensa, will be able to enjoy this experience thanks to the partnership with TERRASZA, born from the common desire to build a sharing space in the name of design. The hotel, in fact, has a central social hub, a terrace with swimming pool and an outdoor green space where there are furnishings from well-known outdoor brands. Thus, on the occasion of the Design Week, an ideal bridge is created between the city center and the new hotel in the most important Milanese airport, the first opening in Italy of the TRIBE brand.

Alik's Garden will be the fulcrum of a week dedicated to sharing and love for outdoor life, a space where nature, design and art meet, which will counterbalance a circuit of showrooms in the city highlighted on a map drawn by Ángela Léon. The illustrator created the entire image of TERRASZA, the emblem of a balcony or a garden in which to rest, but also of a corner in which to work, in harmony with nature. Of outdoor spaces, squares, streets where people meet. In fact, TERRASZA wants to talk about the society that carries out its daily activities in that "sunny interior" that we know as a shared space, a visible field of energy in continuous transformation.

The partner De'Longhi shares the values of sustainability and has offered and will offer during the April design week a coffee experience with its new Rivelia, automatic machines for preparing fresh coffee from freshly ground beans, also changing variety of coffees with extreme ease, which revolutionize the world of the home bar.

The main objective of the initiative is to generate synergies and exchanges that can encourage dialogue and reflection, addressing issues related to ecology, lifestyle and creative challenges from a transdisciplinary perspective. An innovative approach, which aims to elevate outdoor design to a new category of thought and market, giving prominence and specificity to all the companies that operate in the world of outdoor living at an international level. From furniture to lighting, from carpets to decorative elements, from materials to vases and plants: TERRASZA's mission is to bring together the best of design and production in the sector in a single online and offline "container".
