Galleria Rubin
Via Santa Marta, 10
Galleria Rubin presents, just under four years after its debut in its spaces, Tu sei il mattino, the new exhibition of the painter Pietro Albetti.
The exhibition collects the results of a period of work in which the artist has internalized the experiences of past artistic production and turns a confident look to the future, in the morning of a new season.
The novelty of this exhibition lies above all in the freer imagination. The human figure in the foreground makes its entrance in three large canvases, becoming the real protagonist, from the element in the background that it was. The sharp strokes are abandoned to favor, through almost impressionistic brushstrokes, the corporeity and softness of childhood, an allusion to the morning of life.
If in the exhibition Fermo-immagine the human figure was set in an architectural setting, now in a painting of great attraction the artist expands on the contemplation of nature. The figures of Hopperian imprint seem to open up a passage in the jubilation of vegetation in the garden of Giverny, so beloved by Monet.
The exhibition closes with a decidedly poetic and introspective character, an ironic image of a painting within a painting. The reproduction of a work by Burri is observed by a young man, who in turn is the object of observation by the visitor. This scene could allude to Albetti's early pictorial beginnings as an informal artist, a lesson never forgotten and still found in the sober elegance of his paintings.
The series of works on display highlights a painting that is always elaborate, patient, and constructed by superimpositions starting from a dark and earthly background. The image is of great sharpness and decidedly pictorial for the accumulation of vibrant brushstrokes.
