Iris Roth

designer

Iris Roth is a ceramic artist and interior designer based in Milan.
She graduated with a degree in Art History from Goldsmiths’ College in London.

Iris discovered her love for pottery at a young age, while watching her father sculpting in his atelier.
Iris Roth’s ceramics combine elements of style drawn from a long tradition of Italian artisan production, combined with more contemporary elements.

Every piece is unique and carefully handmade in Italy.
Iris Roth’s ceramics are designed to be beautiful, yet also practical and dishwasher-safe for everyday use. While each item maintains its individuality, they can be manufactured in larger quantities and custom made.

Growing up in an artistic family Iris Roth has developed a passion for aesthetics and non-conventional lifestyles. In her private home in Milan the different objects, the space and the light create a timeless and peaceful private sanctuary, a philosophy that is also reflected in her interior works.

Her interiors are soulful and very intimate and usually understated. The choice of objects, furnitures and original solutions are a heritage of her travels around the world and her bohemien childhood.
Iris works with local craftsmen, who share the same vision for a healthier environment and with whom she also creates custom made furnitures. It’s an organic work and as with her ceramics the focus is on the handcrafted.
Every single object is selected thoughtfully and carefully with the client to create a unique interior and a very personal space that reflects the owner. Home is a place you really want to be.

Iris is currently involved in diverse interior design projects, such as private residences in Italy and Athens and public spaces. In 2019 she designed the interiors for Frankly Bubble Tea at the Bologna store and in 2020 she curated the interiors of oTTo a mare in Stromboli, after the big success of her interiors for oTTo in Chinatown, Milan.
She also collaborates with architects for larger projects that require building works.
