Studio Elémentaires

Studio Élémentaires is founded by the french artists Apolline Couverchel and Gauthier Haziza.

The poetic and theatrical dimension of their artworks stages and shifts the beauty of movements which animate our daily environments.

Far from duplicating our reality, the artists choose to seize and isolate a fragment of it, questioning the sidestep, the process of reproduction and recomposition.

Coming from Living Arts, the duo conserves a fascination for light, explored as a graphic and kinetic medium. Their creative approach and savoir-faire,on contact with craft skills and new technologies, instils in their sculptures a radical force, both conceptual and aesthetic.

Commissioned and presented in different circles : Art, Architecture andDesign, the works of studio Élémentaires invigorate places of life, both public and private.

After a first collaboration in 2013 with the starred Chef Paul Pairet and set design projets in Paris for the fashion industry, the artists were invited in 2015 at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel residencyin Shanghai. Following this experience, they decided to deepen their artistic research by collaborating for a carte blanche with Shang-Xia founded by Hermès.

On their return from China in 2018, Apolline and Gauthiersettled their workshop in the outskirts of Brussels, in Zaventem Ateliers and started working with the belgian interior architect Lionel Jadot andinstitutions such as the Centre Pompidou or the Centre d’Innovation et de Design - Grand Hornu.
