Elena Salmistraro

Product designer and artist, born in 1983, lives and works in Milan. She graduated in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano in 2008 together with her husband, the architect Angelo Stoli, founded and in September 2009 founded her own studio that deals with architecture and design, in which she still works today.

His creations are the result of a mixture of art and design, attention to detail, the search for harmony of form, poetic style characterize his projects. The search for the expressive language of the object, which can fascinate people evoking emotions, is a priority of his work.

His projects have been selected for some of the most important exhibitions including: "The New Italian Design", a traveling exhibition organized by La Triennale Design Museum in Milan curated by Silvana Annicchiarico and Andrea Branzi, with stops in San Francisco, Santiago del Chile, Cape Town; the exhibition "The New Aesthetic Design" at the Shanghai Biennale 2013 for La Triennale Design Museum, and the Korean Biennale, Gwangju, South Korea 2015.

In 2016, on the occasion of the XXI International Exhibition of the Triennale Di Milano/"Design After Design", participates in the exhibition "W.Women in Italian Design", ninth edition of the Triennale Design Museum. In the same year he paints on a hand designed by the artist Mimmo Paladino, for the initiative "Normali Meraviglie La Mano" curated by Alessandro Guerriero and Alessandra Zucchi, exhibited at the Triennale di Milano.

Since 2017 she has been appointed Ambassador of Italian Design in the World (with meetings in Zurich 2017 and Rome 2018), on the occasion of the "Italian Design Day", an initiative promoted by the Triennale di Milano in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.

In 2017 he also wins the "Salone del Mobile Milano Award" as "Best debutant designer". In 2018 on the occasion of the Fuori Salone del Mobile in Milan she was appointed Ambassador of Brera Design District and for the occasion she designed an installation for Timberland in the heart of the district. In 2018 on the occasion of Marmomac (Verona) she wins the "Icon Award".
