About

A short distance from Piazza Duomo, leaving the chaotic Via Torino and go up in Via San Maurilio, one of the alleys of the old Milan that has kept the charm and atmosphere. Here there is San Mauri, Osteria Contemporanea as a new bistro restaurant.

The origin of the building dates back to 1500, when the interior housed a convent. There remain a few traces, as the ancient stone floor. You will be welcomed by Luca and Giorgio, two brothers, who with their staff offer a cuisine that recovers proudly traditional Italian dishes.

This reworks contemporary tavern classics, using the products of the Southern Agricultural Park farmhouses, a valorization of local ingredients accompanied by a reasoned choice of wine labels. The first room, a handful of tables around the bar is reserved in the bistro overlooking the open kitchen. Here the aperitif, with a paired wine goblet, have proposed a series of small gourmand dishes or tasting with a selection of cheeses and cold cuts and house specialties. The lunch menu, with express cuisine, is ideal for business lunches and changes daily. The evening dinner by candlelight, with dishes that recall the historical memory of the excellence of Italian cuisine, a constant search for authentic flavors.
