About

The Alik Cavaliere Art Center, founded in 1998 a few months after the artist's death, is based at 17 Via E. De Amicis and was established in continuity with Maestro Cavaliere's Atelier, which, after the collapse of the historic studio on Via Bocconi, had operated for many years in these spaces since 1986 at the suggestion of the City Council.
The Association was formed by a group of friends of the Artist, Emilio Tadini, Arturo Schwarz, Umberto Eco, Dario Fo, Enrico Baj, Roberto Sanesi, Elena Pontiggia, Francesco Tedeschi, Angela Vettese and others, who formed its Scientific Committee. Honorary members since its inception have been the City of Milan, the Brera Academy, the Milan art high schools, the Triennale, the Stelline, and the Permanente.
The Alik Cavaliere Art Center Association has been ONLUS until 2019 and is currently in the process of registering with RUNTS Lombardia.
The Alik Cavaliere Artistic Center has been linked to the Association "Case e dimore d'Artista" since it was promoted by the City of Milan with the contribution of the Pini Foundation in order to raise awareness of Milan's fascinating artistic heritage outside the top museum institutions.
It is always open to the public free of charge, on average three days a week and by appointment, as well as during events. It exhibits permanently and on a rotating basis Cavaliere's works and installations, which he curates, promoting cultural initiatives on art in Milan in the second half of the 20th century and hosting numerous art projects.
