Opened in 1974, the Museum-Studio Francesco Messina is housed in the former church of San Sisto, near the central Via Torino. The Sicilian artist, but Milanese by adoption, in fact he wanted to preserved a part of his work here, thanks to a bequest made to the City of Milan.
The museum, which was also for many years the artist's studio, exhibits about eighty sculptures (plaster, polychrome pottery, bronzes, waxes) and thirty graphic works (lithographs, pastels, watercolors, pencil drawings).
