The Cloister presents CELEBRATION, a special project unveiled during Milano Design Week 2026 in collaboration with French designer Sam Baron — a long-standing friend of The Cloister and a collaborator presented here for the third time. Both a tribute and a collectible project, the presentation reflects Baron’s ongoing interest in craft, storytelling, and the role everyday objects play in our lives.
At its heart, CELEBRATION is a personal exhibition built around the friendship between Daniela Cavero, founder of The Cloister, and Sam Baron. In contrast to the fast pace and scale often associated with Milano Design Week, the project creates a more intimate moment. Friends, family, clients, and visitors are invited to gather, explore, and celebrate design in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The centrepiece of the presentation is a sculptural celebratory “cake” conceived as an installation. Both playful and symbolic, it transforms the idea of celebration into a physical display. The installation functions as a platform for a series of limited-edition pieces, encouraging visitors to discover them as part of a shared experience. It evokes generosity and memory, turning the act of choosing an object into something personal and meaningful.
Developed in collaboration with selected European artisans and partners, the limited-edition collection brings together craftsmanship and everyday usefulness. Produced in small editions and available for purchase, the pieces are conceived as refined keepsakes of time spent in Milan — a vero souvenir, an authentic object meant to carry the memory of an encounter and a journey.
Located in the 5VIE district, the presentation also encourages visitors to explore one of Milan’s most characterful neighbourhoods. CELEBRATION offers a pause within the rhythm of Milano Design Week — an opportunity to enjoy a thoughtfully curated display and leave with something tangible that preserves the memory of the visit.
