Encore at MDW and encore in the 5VIE district for the featuring Chendù / Fainplast that continues its experimentation with the intention of creating immersive experiences that generate a rupture in the shared imagination, giving substance to a new balance between design, art and circularity.

Alice - What road should I take?”

Cheshire Cat - WHERE DO YOU WANNA GO?

It will be an immersive outdoor installation, inspired in concept by the dreaminess of Alice in Wonderland, to tell the philosophy, planning, horizons, and roads that are choices. A labyrinth where one can get lost to find oneself, a treasure chest revealing the unreleased 2025 proposals, in continuity with the path taken last year.

Between travertine, metal, marble and plastic, upcycling and high craftsmanship, vision and materiality, courage and amazement, aesthetics and functionality, sculpture and decoration, the creative approach cultivates avant-garde, crosses the frontier of the comfort zone, of material contaminations already appreciated and combinations already tested, of harmony proclaimed to create new “invisible harmonies.”

WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO? is the Chendù feat. Fainplast exhibition project curated by designer Ernesto Cesario: the alchemical harmony between the mainly high craftsmanship furniture and accessories brand from Ascoli Piceno and the Ascoli-based compound company Fainplast grows and renews itself, aided by the intuition of Roberta Faraotti, its external relations and welfare manager, common vision and ongoing exchanges with Ernesto and Elisabetta (Mariani), the other half of Chendù.

A value-driven, territorial, sustainable, disruptive project, where tThe micro relates to the macro, creativity confronts industry, innovation takes hold and the horizon changes the gaze. An intervention that carries with it many messages, telling of the past meeting the future in the present.

Following the debut of the MIMÌ collection at MDW 2024 and in continuity with it, launch for LULÙ, the unprecedented collection between art and design, made of Ascoli travertine and scrap pvc, currently consisting of a console table, a tray, and a pair of candle holders/fermals, which will be presented at MDW 2025. “The thread that becomes narrative, stitching, bonding, the thread that unites, that becomes one with the stone, which welcomes and enhances it, the thread as a characterizing element, the sight questions, the touch does not lie, harmony of opposites that merge”, the designer says.

It will dialogue with the new pieces of the ORU (Japanese for “weave”) collection that consecrates the changing perception of PVC, which changes and is substantiated, in upcycling works between art and design, with mini ORU flower holder and ORU room separator that join the decorative wall elements represented here by a composition of ORU gold half moon.

The productions are kept in the heart of the exhibit inside the first SIAM courtyard at 18 Santa Marta Street, one of the 5VIE headquarters.

Recurring is the manipulation of a PVC waste material - 100% recyclable - a “by-product” of testing the plastic material to test its qualitative performance, which comes into connection with eternal, precious materials and becomes art, becomes decoration, becomes furniture and is made infinite like any collectible piece that finds its place in the world.

Completing the setup, the seats designed and made, especially for the occasion, in concrete 3D printed with the reuse of rubble and waste from demolition and construction in partnership with the start-up Centauroos, common denominators: the territory, innovation, sustainability and the designer!

On 5VIE day, Wednesday, April 9, from 6:30 p.m., young talents from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala will propose a musical performance, playing themes inspired by the concept of our installation, artistically invading the spaces.

WHERE DO YOU WANNA GO? Chase the white rabbit and be amazed.
