Jean Yves Lanvin, a French artist living in Milan and descendant of Jeanne Lanvin, the great French fashion designer and founder of the House of Lanvin, spent his youth in the world of fashion and art, discovering the world of Paul Iribe and the works of Armand Albert Rateau and Jean Dunand created for the houses of Jeanne Lanvin and Lanvin Décoration.
After working in finance for Lazard Frères in New York and Salomon Brothers in London, he embraced his passion for art and design and represented some of the best design houses and art studios.
Jean Yves Lanvin creates his works, a cross between art and design, with a vision expressed in clear, asymmetrical lines, with great attention to materials and their processing, such as bronze, brass and aluminum, and stones like marble and onyx.
Tables, consoles, lamps imagined as sculptures, his creations are unique, with an elegant yet strong style, and always with their own functionality, an intense art to experiment.
Jean Yves Lanvin's gallery in Pietrasanta, Tuscany, famous for its art, craftsmanship and marble workshops, is not only a showcase for his work, but also recounts his world of passions, such as tapestries, of which he has a rich collection.
