I have always been struck by the ephemeral side of things, living beings and the inexorable passing of time. My first series of photographs, entitled "Vanitas," sought to represent this painful aspect, taking inspiration from the tradition of painting. Later, a deeper awareness of the issue matured in me. I realized that change and transience are inseparable aspects of the reality in which we live. I therefore stopped voicing the melancholy I felt for the ephemeral: it is to its celebration that I wanted to contribute, paying homage to it with "The Impermanence of Everything," a series of works inspired by Eastern culture and arts. 

Photographing has helped me accept the transitory nature of things, a finiteness that merges into a universal flux.  My latest series stems from this path. There is no longer opposition between life and death, because they are now conceived as the two sides of a mirror to be crossed: without one, the other would not exist. It is an attempt to incarnate, to become aware that we live here and now or, as Hölderlin wrote, to "poetically inhabit the world."
