DA COSA NASCE COSA is an inclusive and ecological social-relational design project, born from a training course in which hearing and deaf people (signalling and oral) worked together for fifteen months designing unique objects or small series, using valuable waste materials from industrial production donated by international design companies. The prototypes presented are the result of the shared training process.
The aim of this process was to overcome all language and verbal barriers, giving rise to a resilient community between deaf and hard of hearing people capable of creating independent design production, of a high formal and technical level, sustainable, based on the principles of the circular economy.
The working and training methodology followed by the group was that of learing by doing, in which reciprocal listening, shared experimentation, and the public exchange of visions, approaches, questions, and design choices allowed for a choral advancement, the realisation of a design hope that would go beyond the barriers of each one, finalising in the realisation of objects for individual or collective use.
