"My world is a parade of color and life, it is baroque, flamboyant and generous: a joyful army of monsters made of paper and ceramics of course, but also fabric and other materials because I like the idea of carrying out diversified works. I have traveled a lot, met many people, and loved plenty of them. I immersed myself in Portuguese Baroque art, in English spontaneousness, in American intensity, and in Belgian surrealism. These multiple influences made me a many-sided artist, exploring a wide range of media and techniques. It is all about proportions. Then, baroque I am, but equally impressionist or brutalist: labels are pointless in this case. Whatever the medium, either sculpture, design or drawing: I treat them alike. All I need is time, work and travelling, and then the dance happens by itself."
