CASA DEL MANZONI
Via Gerolamo Morone 1

In the house in via Morone 1, purchased in 1813, Alessandro Manzoni lived for almost sixty years, from 1814 to 1873, the year of his death: it is institutionally considered Casa Manzoni, a cultural and symbolic place for the city of Milan and for a wide and articulated public.
In 2015 a careful conservative restoration, by Intesa Sanpaolo, brought it back to its original splendor.
It is home to the National Center for Manzonian Studies, which by statute has exclusive and perpetual use, with the task of promoting studies on the figure and work of the great writer.
The Center opens to the public the Museo Manzoniano (set up in the representative rooms of the House on the ground and second floors), and offers a specialized library of about 35,000 volumes, including Manzoni's personal collection.
