Thais spent her childhood surrounded by the colors and beauty of natural
stones. Brazilian, born and raised in Minas Gerais, the largest producer of
natural gemstones among the states of Brazil. Since she was a child she learned
to appreciate and love the variety, shades, materials and richness of gemstones.
Along with nature, the warmth of the people, the vastness of the breathtaking
landscapes, which are part of her legacy, until the moment she left Brazil to see
the world as a professional model.
For this reason, in conjunction with her modeling career, she studied Gemology
and 3D Design and also obtained a Master in Fashion Brand Management in
Milan. All her experiences and knowledge, together with her love for colored
stones, pushed Thais to found the brand that bears her name in 2015. THAIS
BERNARDES jewels have a unique design, made of precious materials and
natural stones, where Italian craftsmanship combined with the inspiration of
Brazilian nature, creates inimitable objects.
Each of her collections contains a deep and well-rooted meaning, which Thais
wants to convey to the world also through her refined jewels.
An example of this is the feather, which we also find in the Brand's logo. "When
I was still a child, my grandmother gave me a blue feather to hang around my
neck as a lucky talisman. This feather was a symbol of freedom and courage for
the indigenous populations of the Amazon. From that day on, I understood that I
had to spread this neglected culture and I realized how important it is to pass
down traditions and symbols from generation to generation to prevent them
from being lost over time, especially now that we are living in a world that is
too fast".
"The collection dedicated to "feathers" was born precisely with this underlying
thought and with the desire to convey freedom and courage to those who wear
it. Exactly as happened to the indigenous populations of my land".
Another strong inspiration comes from nature, from Mother Earth. Brazilian
Soul is dedicated to her, because it is precisely in Brazil that biodiversity
expresses its maximum potential, giving life to hundreds of thousands of
different species of animals and plants. Among all her creations, the parrot
stands out and distinguishes itself, which we can almost define as her spirit
animal. It may be a coincidence, but by now this bird has become the symbol of
her brand and we can find it in many of the creations, which recall its colorful
and variegated plumage.
