KRJST studio was born from the meeting of Erika Schillebeeckx and Justine de Moriamé, following their Master's degree in Fashion design and Accessories at E.N.S.A.V La Cambre (Brussels) in 2011.
It is through collections of high-end ready-to-wear for women and men, presented between 2012 and 2016, as part of the fashion weeks in Paris that KRJST became known.
It is through these collections that Erika and Justine discovered and experimented with weaving techniques.
In 2016, they decided to stop working in fashion and to present a first exhibition in the art gallery Atelier Relief (Brussels). There, they exhibited their artistic research work related to their clothing brand (drawings, photos, textiles). It is on this occasion that they present their first mural weaving and are chosen in the wake to realize the curating and the scenography of the exhibition Recollection at the Belfius Art Gallery. They executed their first series of commissioned weavings including 2 monumental pieces.
This was the starting point of almost 6 years of creation based on and around weaving.
KRJST has since established strong partnerships with several national and international galleries and institutions such as ArtSablon gallery, Atelier Jespers, Kolkhoze, Domaine Adorne, Galerie Dys, Silversquare, Fondation Boghossian...
In 2019 KRJST joins "Zaventem Ateliers" a space of artists' studios, created at the initiative of designer Lionel Jadot. This place of meeting and transdisciplinary sharing is the image of the studio's philosophy.
Surrounded by gallery owners, artists, designers, architects, they are part of an artistic scene whose mission is to question what art is, its function, its role, its creative processes.
