Johannes Nagel was born in
Jena in 1979. He lives and works in Halle, Germany. Since 2012 he has
taught at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein in Halle.
He studied at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein,
where he teaches as an assistant professor. He started his career as a
ceramist as an apprentice in Canada with Kinya Ishikawa, Japanese
ceramist but based in Quebec (Canada). His works are exhibited and
collected internationally in various museum collections, including the
Victoria and Albert Museum, the Musée Ariana and the Keramion Museum. In
2019 Nagel received the Westerwald Keramikmuseum aw.
