Walter Guadagnini

Walter Guadagnini is director of CAMERA - Italian Centre for Photography. He directed the Galleria Civica of Modena, conducting the Modena exhibition for photography. Holder of the chair of History of Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, he has curated important exhibitions in museums and institutions, including the MAMbo in Bologna, the Strozzina in Florence, the Scuderie del Quirinale and the Palazzo Blu in Pisa.

He was the sole commissioner of the section that Paris Photo dedicates to Italy and the creator and curator of a series on the history of photography, with contributions from leading international historians and photographic critics. Since 2006, he has been in charge of the photography section of Il Giornale dell'Arte, and since 2015 he has worked alongside Diane Dufour and Elio Grazioli in the artistic direction of the international festival Fotografia Europea di Reggio Emilia.
