THE POOL NYC presents the solo exhibition of Stefania Fersini, a young artist who lives and works in Turin. Toreros d'Aujourd'hui transforms Palazzo Fagnani Ronzoni, the gallery's exhibition venue, into Fersini's only work on show. A place that becomes etymologically domestic, an alcove of pastel shades and recognisable elements; a space that becomes a perpetual déjà vu of curtains and wallpapers partially and peripherally painted, with fictitious furniture and paintings, playing on the ambivalence of expectation and reality, background and subject, margin and protagonism.
Indeed, the "house" conceived by the artist is made up of a number of works - old and new, and the time factor must be borne in mind at every step in the labyrinthine reasoning - by Aldo Mondino and Gabetti and Isola: Fersini is omnipresent, acting as a frame and container for the works of the aforementioned, revealing herself at times and recreating the constant elusiveness that represents her.
