RE-FABRIC

Carla Saibene presents the re-FABRIC project by Laura Baresi, Knit Designer based in Brescia. Laura has created a site-specific installation for the Carla Saibene store using and giving new life to the cutting scraps of the fashion collection designed by the designer Carla Saibene. The reFABRIC project invites us to reflect on the widespread consequences of 'fast' fashion and on the great aesthetic (and practical) potential of "waste". From 19 to 21 of Wednesday 18 April, a live performance will take place in which Laura, with interweaving, threads, knots and tools of the trade, will show how her creations are born. 

The result of the collaboration between knit designer Laura Baresi and fashion designer Carla Saibene is FRAPS Fabulous Scraps, a limited edition capsule collection of bags and clutches made with recycled fabrics, precious silks, cotton and woven colored linens and processed with the techniques classic knit and crochet. Each bag is woven, knotted and embroidered by hand by Laura, following the gestures and times of the Italian artisan tradition. The accessories, limited edition and numbered, will be on sale from Wednesday 18 for the duration of the Milan Design Week in the store Carla Saibene Atelier in Via S. Maurilio, 20. The prototype # 0001 of the collection will be exhibited at DIN Design in 2018 in the district of Lambrate in Via Massimiano 6. Other pieces and models will be made to order and request.
