“Goodness is the only investment that never fails. What's the use of a fine house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?” [Henry Thoreau]

Fresh from University, Davide Barzaghi brought with him a fascination for the concept of sustainable living and when asked to join the family furniture business, he immediately knew that it would be on his terms only. He wanted to make a mark, he wanted to produce differently, he wanted to make products that were beautiful and sustainable inside and out.

Following in the footsteps of seven generations of italian furniture makers, he started to investigate old production techniques and materials with his father Danilo and his grandfather Aimo.

At the same time he met inventors to discuss the newest trends in eco-materials, and pulled a circle of young designers into the mission that were fascinated by his ideas eventually creating a first furniture collection in 2012. Highly decorated with design prices at the time, it took another eight years to perfect the production methods and round off the collection ranging from luxurious sofas, extravagant lounge chairs, modern coffee tables and unique 24 karat bookshelves.

Today, D3CO is the only company worldwide that makes 100% natural sofas. Handmade locally and entirely near Milan, each D3CO creation is crafted individually, and is toxine- and plastic-free. The focus of the company is on furniture and home products that last for generations - and that also biodegrade without residue, should the owners wish to discard them.

D3CO offers an exclusive selection of upholstered furniture, including sofas, armchairs, dining and lounge chairs, chaise longue, and poufs. D3CO’s collection also features original coffee tables and an intriguing bookshelf in 24 karat gold.

Davide believes that in the long run, we do need to make sure that we have a healthy planet to build our houses on. More and more people heed his call, including his German wife Tine, who in 2019 joined the mission and helps with the development of the company.
