The classroom, center for art and education born in Milan in April 2016, invited Piero Golia (Naples, 1974) and Diego Perrone (Asti, 1970) to investigate with a course and an exhibition the works and ideas of American artist Chris Burden (1946-2015). Inside an empty storage room of an historic mansion of Milan city center, Italians artists will work with materials and personal clues taken from Burden studio (drawings, objects, toys, technical tools ...) that represent often the starting point of his conceptual process through drawings, performance and sculpture. Looking at these fragments Golia and Perrone will run a course open to students and the public, turning the result of such experience into an exhibition. Golia and Perrone will dialogue in particular with the thinking process of Burden through the use of Risograph printing technique. The space-class chosen for the occasion will be so transformed by new series of prints and paper works that inevitably will open up a discussion on one of the most important artists of the late twentieth century. Together with the students, the public and in collaboration with Friends Make Books (print studio specializing in Risograph printing) the fourth project by the classroom will be back in Milan after a year of programming and continue to think about the relationship between exhibition and educational practices. The initiative aims thus to share intertwined paths, dialogues between practices, histories, different generations and contexts that thanks to the artist's active role can offer the public new approaches to the language of contemporary art and its exciting stories.

After the three day course (24 – 26 March), the project will open to the public on Monday 27 March accompanied by an event, scheduled for the evening of the same day at the Teatro Arsenale di Milano. The exhibition will be open to the public till April 10. The project is a co-production with 5vie art+ design district. Media partnership: DOMUS.
