Pâtisserie des Rèves in Corso Magenta 7 hosts the installation of a butterflies’ oasis project presented by Orti d’Azienda Onlus and designed by Bianca Pichler. The totem helps repopulating butterflies in the city, where Vanessa, Icarus, Citronella and other species will find the nectar in their favourite flowers. Lavender, clover, rosemary, fennel, mint, wild primrose, nasturtium, borage are some of the best-liked plants of these lovely lepidopterans, which help to develop biodiversity in the urban ecosystem.
The structure is a module consisting of a container for plants on one side and a seat on the other. It is possible to create many variable module combinations with customizable colours for public and private spaces. The plants may also be used for consumption or just for decoration. The oasis’ structure is inspired by a larger project that wants to develop corridors for butterflies, linking urban green spaces each other.
ORTI D’AZIENDA ONLUS
Orti d’Azienda Onlusis a non-profit organization founded in January 2012 promoting sustainable social activities and environmental protection towards companies and communities by proposing the installation and management of vegetable gardens. The goal of the association is to involve employees and sensible people and make them think about food quality, self-production, environmental footprint and social responsibility. Sharing a vegetable garden helps learning to socialize, rediscovering natural cycles, rooting into the urban landscape and contributing to the protection of the planet.
