STROMBOLI is a new Milan-base design studio created by designer Clemence Seilles specialised in composite objects and furnitures. In this particular year of 2020, STROMBOLI moved from Mexico city to Milan, bringing in its luggage a whole world of inspiration and colors to reconnect with its Italian Volcanic roots. The designs of STROMBOLI are playful, colorful, diverse and transformable, just like a magma in motion in the boiling marmit of STROMBOLI design studio.
With her recent installation in Milan, designer Clemence Seilles now emphasizes on connecting creative industries in recycled materials together with italian craft processes. STROMBOLI collaborates with innovative industries in the Lombardy region to create new materials issued from industrial waste for them to become playful and affordable outdoor furniture. The Buena Onda Sofa, released in limited edition in 2014, foresaw the rising importance of recycled materials in the design field, and is the first green sofa made of industrial materials yet crafted manually.
Beyond the recycling theme, STROMBOLI design presents a panel of creative capabilities through a large variety of objects and craft techniques gained during a five-years experience working with traditional workshops in Mexico. Clemence has gained an accurate understanding of manual productions that she applies to designing objects, furniture and interiors. Stromboli’s creations are for design enthusiasts with an eccentric taste, in search of an original story and look. Yet, Stromboli’s furniture is both practical and affordable.
