Ji Youn Woo - HWA
Designer
Ji-youn Woo is a designer based between Seoul and Milan, developing an experimental design
practice under the name HWA.
Her work explores materiality, form, structure, and fabrication processes, often resulting in
sculptural objects that evolve across different scales, functions, and contexts.
HWA functions as an evolving platform for experimental design, where individual projects
expand as interconnected explorations of material, structure, and form.
Her ongoing project Renascor was first introduced at Edit Napoli 2024 and later expanded into a
larger series presented at Isola Design Gallery during Milan Design Week 2025.
In 2026, she presents Vertical Garden at 5VIE during Milan Design Week, extending her
practice into a new exploration of modular systems and structural interpretations of growth.
Through HWA, she continues to develop interconnected projects that investigate how objects,
materials, and systems can generate new spatial and sculptural possibilities.
