Wyssem Nochi
Designer
Wyssem Nochi is a graduate of the Architectural Association in London and Parsons the New School for Design in New York. He has taught architecture and design at the American University in Beirut, and the Lebanese American University, he has earned numerous awards and have shown work internationally, his work is widely published.
In 2005 he founded ON/OFF a design art gallery and consultancy in downtown Beirut now destroyed following the blast of August 4, 2020, with an injury disabling his right hand cut by a shard of glass, it will take him months to recover; amid the covid 19 pandemic, the politic and economic fail, Lebanon awaits a major transformation, a force to overcome and to become in conflict against all odds, from ground zero, to rebuild and to rethink everything anew, all will be different from then…

Underlying the aesthetics of his work is an art expression, as design provide the essential function, reinterprets experience in genuine material in a (virtual/physical) object that highlights a constant, a vital energy moment of awareness to being he desires to communicate and share with his audience.
