On April 18th Gallery Milan Art & Events Center inaugurates Co-Abitazioni,
Kikoko's solo
exhibition. On display over 40 paintings that delineate the poetics of the Togo artist. His works, says Aldo Caserini, reflect and transform cosmologies and traditions exposed to different experiences, from rupestrian signs to primitivism and ethnic interpretations, from French eclecticism to the manipulations of post-expressionist repertoire, from the bizarre German mixture to the innocent surrender of Italian lyricism, at the naive rounds. In his acrylics on cardboard, jute and mixed techniques Kikoko often hides facts, events, references to places and trips, avoiding in any case to enter into a direct relationship with the dominant thought and power. Basically his works claim shared places, the sense of belonging to a social and cultural fabric. They are entrusted to color and to the graphic sign and recall hyperbolic characters, imaginary situations, fantastic settings.
