Volata di Segni

On the occasion of the Design Week, OMNIA presents the work of a young Italian artist: Flaminia Moizo.

She says of his work: “I paint with acrylic colours and mixed techniques on canvas. I take inspiration from expressionist artists who bring their soul to the canvas, such as Jackson Pollock, Tancredi, Vedova, Gerhard Richter, Cy Twombly, Rothko and Joan Mitchell.  I started painting gradually until I figured out I couldn’t stay without it. I’ve participated at the evening painting courses of RUFA in Rome and NABA in Milan. 

I think that painting is the best artistic form to better express feelings and emotions; painting is pure and real and these are values that remain on time although the changes around us. Each colour imposes itself and at the same time it mixes up with another colour, creating layers to cover and rediscover what is behind. Colours have precise meanings: white is the colour that keeps everything together, it illuminates and gives space to the layers.

The signs symbolize what nature is made of, as bird flocks and leafs. It is possible to glimpse wings, from small to bigger groups. At the same time it is possible to feel the wind and the air.

Each stroke is a sign and a painting becomes a shutter click of what is seen in nature, turned into a symbol”
